Citizens Supporting Murphy

Just some food for thought,

I have had all weekend to digest some of the responses to the “concerned – parents, concerned – citizens” in town that have posted on this forum. First off, I would like to break several issues down and highlight some points of interest. Let’s start off and discuss Roxanne Bogdan the “ring leader” of the Barna and Bogdan group. Roxanne is very active with her little “underground network of people”, like, Viola Hoffman, Robert Wynn, Vicki Holt, Colleen Halbert, Margaret Malone, Angie Eizenzopff, and of course the infamous Eric Barna plus a few others. I find it interesting that Roxanne is concerned about the welfare of children. Why? Well let’s take a moment to reflect on that. You see Roxanne was complained on to the Murphy Police Department in August 2003 for child abuse / child neglect. YES! That’s right. You read correctly. We discovered that Roxanne allowed one of her young son’s probably 3 or 4 at that time to play in the front yard UNSUPERVISED. The child apparently ran out into the street and was almost struck by a passing motorist who reported the incident.ps Roxanne would like to shed a little more light on this issue. I suggest filing an open records request at the city and read for yourself!

I further find it interesting that some of the parents of Rolling Ridge were concerned about their children. Why? Well let’s take a moment to discuss this.






Hmmm, well it looks like Eric Barna parading a group of protesters with CHILDREN around the sting site attempting to interfere with an official police operation. They don’t look too concerned to me.

If in fact you were “concerned” why would you bring children to the area and parade them around a “sting” house? Aren’t you “subjecting” them to “danger”??

Perhaps Barna and Bogdan and maybe a few others would like to address that question. We are just curious.

Let’s get back to Roxanne for a bit. See Roxanne likes to “stir” the pot. You see she enjoys creating turmoil within the city. Now, Roxanne will tell you that is not true and that she has the best interest at heart for the City of Murphy BUT again her actions speak differently.

Let’s go back to mid 2005. Roxanne applied for a full time position with the Murphy Fire Department. Unfortunately, Roxanne did not get the job for whatever reason. WELL that did not set to well with Roxanne. SO what does she do? Roxanne goes after Kelly Stalder (Murphy Fire Chief). Yes, that’s right you guessed it. Roxanne called Eric Barna, cried on his shoulder and poof we have an issue now. That duo attacked Stalder in every direction. Don’t take my word for it go talk to Kelly sometime I am sure he could enlighten anyone willing to listen.

Let’s roll forward to say February 2006. The GREAT “CITATION BOOM”.

Hmmm, where there is smoke there is probably fire. You guessed it! Roxanne behind the scenes once again, distorting the truth and spreading gossip” this time partnering up with Angie Eizenhopff. Once again trying to create turmoil within the city. This time it was to make the Murphy Police look “corrupt” for enforcing traffic laws.

And NOW, November 2006. Roxanne once again in the spotlight. Now as the spokesperson for “Citizens in Support of the Murphy Police – No Recall Division”.

Hmmm, wait a minute. Roxanne supports the police BUT had issues with the police back in February. WOW…interesting.

I find it interesting reading the forums as people are “concerned and upset” saying that the sting would bring property values down and some upset because Murphy was now gonna have a black eye for being on National TV.

That’s funny. Aren’t these the same “people” that called the local media and GERALDO SHOW????




Looks like they are having a “hay day” getting their one-day of fame to me. Again, actions speak louder than words.

It is simply amazing that every time you turn around you see Roxanne in the spot light or behind the scenes promoting “turmoil”. If Roxanne would put that much energy into something positive we would have an awesome community.

Let’s talk about Murphy Tax Payer and Corrupted Justice.

Let’s discuss this little website called corrupted justice. Com. We did some research and found out that this site is actually a group of people that actually support perverts and pedophiles. Yes that’s right! Let’s take a look at the Do’s and Don’ts section # 8 of their website.

8. If and when they contact family, neighbors, friends, or employers, take legal action, and be honest- humans make mistakes and this was an unfortunate mistake. Do not allow this situation to ruin your life or destroy your self-esteem. Perverted-Justice.com wants to cause you pain and humiliation (they thrive on knowing they are hurting others).
Hmmm, it is a mistake to “cyber” with a child and or solicit a child for sex??? How can that be a mistake to knowingly go online and solicit a child for sex??? Can anyone answer this? Perhaps Murphy Tax Payer would like to clarify this since he is so supportive of this little group.

What this translates to is a support site for perverts and pedophiles. Plain and simple. Apparently, Murphy Tax Payer supports perverts. Take a look at his thread about corrupted justice and form your own opinion. Oh and be sure to look at their mission statement.

Again we have a small group of people spouting off things that they have no knowledge of. An example of this would be AGAIN Murphy Tax Payer.

Craig Sherwood should be placed on leave immediately!!!! It is unbelievably unacceptable for the City Manager and Police Chief to invite an outside vigilante organization to film a sensationalistic national program in our city and subject our young children to unprecedented danger by inviting every responding pedophile within a 200 mile range to converge in Murphy, Texas right across from Hunt Elementary school. This is not only a violation of the trust the Council put in the City Manager, this is against the Charter of the City of Murphy that REQUIRES the City Manager to keep the Council informed on all issues. Perverted: Your statements on this site proclaiming that the council could not be informed because they might be pedophiles is total crapola. What about the City Manager and Police Chief for heavens sake if you are going that route? There is absolutely no accceptable excuse for the City Manager to exclude the Mayor and the council from the decision making process. The City Manager is NOT king. He reports to the Mayor and Council! Maybe you do things differently in Hollywood? Furthermore, and on a lesser note: How is it that the City of Murphy can break its own Ordinance and rent a home on a weekly basis without council approval first? Doesn't our Subdivision Ordinance require a six month minimum rental period, or something along those lines? Or can we all rent our houses out by the week? The City Council would be remiss not to call an emergency meeting and immediately place City Manager Craig Sherwood on leave for insubordination!!! In my opinion the City Manager should be fired for allowing this to go forth without the approval of Council. This is insubordination at its highest level. Sherwood should be fired without severance. Go ahead Council: Let him try to sue for his contract after he violated the public trust in this manner. Just let him try and let him spend two years and $130,000 (or more) of his own money to bring it to a local jury. A taste of his own medicine would do him good. I say, "Good Riddance!" That Chief obviously needs to go, too, but that will be left for the new manager to clean up. Finally, an investigation needs to be launched to determine if Craig Sherwood involved the Mayor Pro Tem Michelle Long or the Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Roger Davis in this affair ahead of time to the exclusion of our elected leader of the city: Mayor Baldwin. Sherwood has done this exact kind of thing in the past, and it is completely inexcusable and improper. The council should vote for an outside proper law enforcement agency to conduct an investigation. Murphytaxpayer


Pay special attention to the date: November 7, 2006 @ 12:37 PM. The sting wrapped up late Sunday night and we already have an “expert” giving his “professional advise” as to what should happen without digesting any of the details. Just take a moment to read the ignorance of his poster. This is a person that has the best interest at heart of the City of Murphy?? Hmmm, I don’t think so. Sounds to me like MTP likes to jump on the band wagon and spout off about issues without getting the “whole” story. Wouldn’t it be a disaster if this person were in charge Just shoot from the hip. WOW! My advise to you MTP is get your facts straight FIRST before you go off and start blabbing. You make yourself look totally ignorant.

What is sad is that Mayor Baldwin is on MTP’s side. Yes that’s right! This is Mayor Baldwin’s little group of supporters as you can tell by reading the forums. Mayor Baldwin went on NATIONAL TV saying that he did not support the police and made comment in the media that the City Manager’s job and Police Chief’s job could be in jeopardy. Secondly, he calls both men into a private meeting and asks for their resignation. Is that proper? You make the call…

Mayor Baldwin further embarrassed the city by making ignorant comments on NATIONAL TV and back tracking on the Russ Martin Show.

In the last council meeting the “little group” apparently decided to change their course of action. Mayor Baldwin made an “apology” but it didn’t look too genuine to me. It looked like he was back peddling. I find it interesting that the little group now wants everyone to work as a “team” so that we can all come together to “heal” the divided city.

Hmmm, looks like they know that their two precious council members may be in jeopardy and it is time to play the “oh shit” card. Right???

I further find it interesting that this little group jumps around the forums. From, property values, luring “predators” into the community to working with a vigilante group. Seems that they have a broad focus.

I AM OUTRAGED!!!!!!!!! I AM FURIOUS!!!!!!!!! I am going to call city hall tomorrow and ask for details. If they say that, yes, there was a sting operation LURING CHILD PREDATORS TO MURPHY - I THINK I AM GOING TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK! My blood pressure is soaring as I type. Why, why, why? Are Myrick and Sherwood trying to boost their resumes? .... captured X number of child predators while at this job... I don't know. Why would we do this and put our children at risk? I'm at a complete loss why one would lure child predators to a small suburb that is packed with kids. Thank heavens it rained today and washed the hopscotch off my sidewalk. Thank heavens I've pulled in my childish Halloween outside decor. For those predators that didn't fall for the sting, they probably got a nice sense for the demographic in Murphy. Probably drove by a few parks and school. Did this happen a few months ago too? In what neighborhood? Rolling Ridge or another subdivision?

Let’s talk about Perverted Justice for a moment. You call them vigilantes. This is a group of volunteers that are citizens trying to catch child predators. How can you attack an organization that is out there protecting YOUR children from online predators. You people seem more interested in protecting the perverts as you do protecting your children.

I don’t give a flying rip if Xavier Von Erck is a gamer, custodian or high school drop out. Point is that this young man put to use his knowledge and skills to build a company that targets perverts. WHAT LOGIC IS THIS????? I can tell you one damn thing as a father I love my children and the more organizations like this the BETTER! I know that PJ is blunt and to the point and yes they tell it like it is using profane language, BUT when you have 21 to 60 year olds soliciting children for sex THEY HAVE NO RIGHTS! I heard the argument that “citizens” should not be doing the work of law enforcement. EXCUSE ME! What is the VIP’S? Volunteers in policing, citizens on patrol?????

Citizens cruising around in marked squad cars like in Richardson and Allen. Taking reports and responding to various calls for service. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

These programs saved cities in MILLIONS over the past several years assisting law enforcement. Doing jobs that otherwise would probably not get done.

Let’s talk about “luring” predators into town. Apparently the Murphy Police with over 400 years of combined law enforcement experience does not know what they are doing, teamed up with NBC who has some of the best equipment around and a group of trained volunteers that spent months coordinating this operation. The same operation that has been successfully performed in other areas of the United States WORKING with other law enforcement agencies. RIGHT???

Again, you are double-talking without knowing the facts.

SO NOW, we have a Mayor and Council member that support and promote this type of mentality. Do you truly think these two men have the best interest of the city at heart????

Ah.... look at all my fans. Fans that don't know Murphy from New York City or our residents and really nothing but what has been spoon fed by PJ. Sorry for the two typos in my e-mail. But I'm an auto-generated bot and my programmers couldn't spwel. Anytime any of you want to come to Murphy, I'll take you around our fine town. Just goes to show you the professionalism displayed by the members of Perverted Justice. I appreciate our Police Department for bringing such a professional organization to our city. And for the record, every email I received from Murphy residents was answered in detail. For those emails I received from the "PJ email blast" received a form email that I prepared to let my feelings known. A few that actually responded reasonably received equally reasonable emails back. Of course that only amounted to about 10 of the 150 emails I received from outside of Murphy.

Hmmm, looks like 10 out of 150 were possibly supportive of their little “protest”. I would say that if 140 people are in support of this operation then apparently something was done right. RIGHT??? I think Eric needs to re-evaluate his statement and do some heavy duty sole searching. Once again he has made himself look totally ignorant.

Perhaps Senator Hatch is like our own city leadership in that he has only looked at one piece of a much larger picture. He references the TV show. The show only shows part of the story. Will the segment on us show the perps fleeing in cars, drugs being tossed out the window or the man who shot himself? I don't honestly care that he shot himself, but I care deeply that at least 1 in 22 of these arrests involved a predator with a gun

Boy, you sure don't know what you are talking about. I was just telling a friend of mine in the Garland PD today that they (GPD) are one of things I most miss about living in Garland (just a few miles from hiere). I wholeheartedly support the Garland PD because I know that they are a wonderful police force from the top down. Unfortunately, the Murphy PD doesn't not have that same wonderful, credible, community-oriented leader. I've also been assured by that same individual that GPD would not work with a group like Perverted Justice and would not have run a sting out of neighborhood as was done in Murphy. I haven't run away from anything. I have valid points to make and it occurs to me that those who disagree and don't have valid responses are the ones who have not bothered to come back after posting once or twice. FWIW - I work for a charity. Now, I've answered your question, care to answer mine?

Looks like you should return to Garland, Colleen. It also appears that you are more supportive of Garland than you are of Murphy. Oh one question dear, if Garland was that great why did you move to Murphy??? Just curious

Mr Sherwood did this sting for publicity, the Chief should not have gone along with it. Plano police were told to"STAY AWAY" from the sting for obvious reasons. The police gave up all authority during the sting, only to be allowed to SWOOP in and handcuff the pervs. They were not in the house for any of the interview process or at all for that matter.... 1) partnered up with a vigilante group that even the most cofisticated/trained police departments in TX rejected. 2) held a search warrant, for when Dateline was commited to getting the "high profile perv" on camera. Warrant was expired, evidence no good. 3) Let above perv live in society 3 months after they had evidence to serve and arrest him.... Thought the whole idea was to catch these guys and get them off the street??? 4)Brought in a National News organization so they could "make the news, not report it" There are STate and National internet crime groups that excel at this kind of sting. Their arrest records and convictions far better than Perverted Justice and Dateline. There was no reason for a town with 12 police officers to do this sting. UNLESS they had other motives????

pj, we're not going to swing to your side. You are talking to a community that does not want crime and predators. That we agree on. We trust our elected officials, guess that is why we elected them... (well most of us voted) any, back to the point. We don't agree that our city Manager and Chief were looking after our communities best interests. Since you are not in our community, you would not understand this concept. There are 2 sides to any story. Time and investigations will give us the answers we need. For now, why don't you just go away and let this community handle our affairs... I don't say that with malice, we just don't need you here....

I understand the concerns and rightfully so. However, the Mayor and Barna should have reacted differently. Instead of blabbing non-sense on the board contradicting himself and going to Rolling Ridge to parade children and citizens around a sting house trying to interfere with an a official police operation he should have calmed people down, gathered the “FACTS”, scheduled a town hall meeting and took a neutral stance and then DECIDED on what action to take.

Instead he goes out embarrasses the City of Murphy on NATIONAL TV, discusses lawsuits on a message board and contradicts himself numerous times. Same thing with Mayor Baldwin.

Oh yea, before I forget... 5. During the "sting" a Rolling Ridge resident called 911 because a man was beating on her front door and would not go away. She was home alone, her husband out of time. It took the police over 5 minutes to arrive at her house (Murphy is only 3.2 square miles). The officer, a motorcycle traffic officer, showed up not a patrol officer I've heard we dedicated to each "zone" in Murphy. Maybe because of this sting, we couldn't get a serious issue taken care of?

Hmmm, it took 5 minutes? Where did you get your information? Second, what the hell is the difference between a motor officer and a patrol officer? Last time I checked they are both certified peace officers. Remember you are Eric Barna (City Council Member) you have all your facts, right?

You see folks, these are ELECTED OFFICIALS that REPRESENT the CITY OF MURPHY. They crossed the line when they acted the way they did. It is totally inappropriate to do what these two did. END OF STORY. Instead of acting like professional leaders of a thriving upper class community they acted like a couple of “hillbillies” setting on the “town council in Podunk, Texas, POPULATION 232!”

What you have is “PODUNK TOWN COUNCIL MENTALITY” on a professional middle to upper class community City Council. And that is exactly what these two “yahoos” are!

You embarrassed the citizens and the City of Murphy on NATIONAL TV; you DO NOT represent the ENTIRE community and you damn sure DON’T support the Murphy police Department, PERIOD!!!!

Do yourself and everyone else a favor and RESIGN FROM COUNCIL!

You people say you support the police but AGAIN your actions speak different. If you supported the police you would have conducted yourselves professionally, gathered the facts, scheduled a town hall meeting and gone from there. It appears that in actuality this is a “vigilante” group trying to over throw the local government.

We will continue to gather signatures for a RECALL ELECTION! The list is growing each day. The majority wants both of you GONE!

I would like to say that I don’t like “slamming” people BUT it is time that the people know the truth. Everything posted on this poster was FACTUAL, I encourage each of you to do your own research and develop your own opinion.

I will continue to work hard to get these two men off council. It is time that we take a stand and put people into office that represent the city as a whole and not as a part.
